Living with a balance disorder

People affected by Bilateral Vestibular Loss (BVL) or Hypofunction (BVH) often struggle to stay balanced while standing or walking, especially on uneven surfaces or in the dark. In addition, when they move their heads quickly, they may experience blurry vision, which gradually drains their energy. As a result, many begin to feel unsafe and insecure when moving around on their own.

Previously, there were no sustainable or non-invasive treatment options. This meant that patients with BVL or BVH often became dependent on others for daily activities. Even worse, they would lose the ability to enjoy the things they once loved—working, walking, cycling, visiting friends, travelling, shopping, and more.

Today, thanks to the BalanceBelt, this no longer needs to be the case. The stories below come from people who have used the BalanceBelt to regain control of their balance—and their lives.
